Red House
| |
This imposing red brick arts and crafts / gothic style house was built in 1890 for a wealthy doctor and has had only a handful of occupiers and as a result changes. The first two floors are home to myself, my husband, our 4 children and our 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. This leaves the entire top floor as a perfectly self contained apartment with its own separate access via the old servants staircase. Perfect for couples wishing to get away from it all, the apartment retains all of its original character and charm, is very spacious but at the same time very private and with stunning views across the gardens to Ravenscar. Most guests return again and again !
There is a large sitting room / dining room with TV, dvd player, stereo, flame effect fire and antique furniture. A large double bedroom with amazing views out to sea, seen whilst snuggled up in your crisp cotton sheets and feather pillows ! The large bathroom is host to a full size sauna and roll top bath. The galley kitchen is fully fitted and has all you could possible need for a home from home experience if not tempted by the delights of the many local pubs and restaurants.
Red House is 5 minutes away from the old village along Thorpe Lane or 15 minutes along the railway line and down through the fields and woods to the back of the Bay chip shop.
